Free Day of Yoga!

Labor Day, Monday September 4, 2017

This is an annual city-wide event which was started in 1999 by Austin yoga teachers wanting to give back to the community and give more people a chance to experience the benefits of yoga.  We will be offering a variety of classes that day that will include yoga asana (exercises, postures, relaxation), yoga meditation and philosophy, and  yoga diet and lifestyle.

Yoga Asana (Exercise) for All Levels
Gentle, effective exercises suitable for all; relaxation and meditation.
Time:  11:00am-12:15pm

Where:  Austin Belly Dance Studio (8650 Spicewood Springs Rd. #104, Austin, 78759)
Bring:  Mat/Towel/Blanket (refreshments will be provided)

Yoga Meditation & Philosophy
Simple techniques to calm the mind and relieve anxiety; yoga wisdom to apply to daily life.
Time:  12:30-1:45pm

Bring:  An open heart! No mat needed. (Seating and refreshments will be provided.)

Yoga Asana (Exercise) for Kids ages 4-12 & their parents!
Traditional yoga exercises combined with fun and imagination! Includes relaxation and meditation too.
Time:  2:00-3:00pm

Yoga Diet and Lifestyle
An overview of yoga diet and lifestyle habits and their purpose to (1) keep the body healthy and functioning and (2) to encourage a more effective yoga practice.
Time:  5:00-6:00pm

Bring:  A desire to learn and a good appetite for dinner afterwards! (Seating, handouts, and refreshments will be provided.)

Vegetarian Dinner!
Join us for a delicious vegetarian dinner!  Gluten-free and vegan friendly!  Bring your own eating dishes and utensils if you can (just to save on paper and plastic), but no problem if you can’t.  If you want to bring a dish to add to the dinner, please make sure it is vegetarian (no meat, fish, eggs, gelatin, or lard; milk products are okay).
Time:  6:00-7:00pm

Deep Peace Meditation & Kirtan – Yoga Meditation with Music!
Experience the deeply peaceful effects of yoga meditation and kirtan (meditation with music). All are welcome!

Vegetarian Thanksgiving Day Feast & Deep Peace Meditation

Thursday November 23, 2017, 6:00-8:30pm

Join us for a sumptuous Thanksgiving Day vegetarian feast!  No need to cause harm to turkeys or any other living creature in order to feed ourselves and enjoy the company of friends and loved ones.  Bring a dish if you’d like (make sure it’s vegetarian: no meat, fish, eggs, gelatin, lard; milk products are fine), but there will be plenty of food already, and your presence is what we value the most!  Families with children are welcome!  Bring your own dishes and eating utensils if you can (just to save on paper and plastic), but no problem if you can’t.

Deep Peace Meditation:  7:00pm
