WORKSHOPS
We offer monthly workshops on various aspects of Yoga. The Yoga process includes working with the body through yoga asana (postures, exercises) and yoga nidra (deep relaxation); guidance on diet and lifestyle; cultivating knowledge (yoga philosophy); and establishing a foundation of permanence, compassion, and unconditional love through meditation (the heart of yoga). These workshops will focus on particular topics with enough time to go into depth for more complete understanding. If you are interested, please let us know! We send out monthly emails with everything that we are offering that month. We also post on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Meetup, YouTube, and Twitter).
RSVP is required: Please email, text, or call to rsvp at least a day ahead. (See below for our contact information.)
Cost: All of our workshops and classes are by donation. Please give what you can — we are very grateful! See our Donations page for payment options.
Location: Yoga Meditation Group, 13740 Research Blvd., Bldg T, Unit 3, Austin, 78750. We are in the Lake Creek Office Park, first building on the right as you drive in from 183.

Yoga Meditation – The Practice and Purpose
An in-depth introduction to the practice and purpose of Yoga Meditation. This workshop covers the same techniques that we teach and practice in our other meditation classes, but we are able to go into more depth about the purpose of these techniques, the subject of identity, our natural function, and the goal of Yoga.
SCHEDULE:
Sunday January 19, 4-6pm.
Sunday February 23, 4-6pm.
Sunday March 23, 4-6pm.
Bring: A notebook to write in if you like to take notes. Handouts and refreshments will be provided.
Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Please refrain from wearing perfume and other fragrances.
Yoga Diet & Lifestyle
What we eat and how we care for the body has a profound effect on our mind, consciousness, and spiritual life. This workshop focuses mainly on yoga diet (which is a whole food plant diet) and also covers other lifestyle habits. Whether you are following a plant diet already or are just thinking about it, you are welcome! We will talk about the five plant food groups (fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds, legumes, and grains); water and hydration; regular exercise and movement; sleep; cleanliness and hygiene; stress management; and a few other subjects related to health and well-being.
SCHEDULE: TBA
Bring: A notebook to write in if you like to take notes. Handouts and refreshments will be provided.
Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather. Please refrain from wearing perfume and other fragrances.
Posture & Alignment
This workshop focuses specifically on our structural alignment in daily life and the impact on our overall physical health. We will talk about basic anatomy using charts and a skeletal model to form a good understanding of how the body is designed. We will then practice several movements and positions that we all engage in every day so that you can be more aware of how to form good alignment in the body — when standing, sitting, walking, lying down, sleeping, and a few other common activities.
SCHEDULE: Saturday February 1, 2:00-4:30pm.
Bring 4 things: A yoga mat; a towel, blanket, or rug; a pillow that you currently use for sleep; and a king size pillow if you have one. (Note: If you don’t want to bring the actual pillows that you use for cleanliness reasons, bring two pillows that are comparable.)
Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in and appropriate for the weather. Please refrain from wearing perfume and other fragrances.
Healing
This goal of this workshop is to share information on how we heal on all levels — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — because it’s all connected. Healing is unique to each person, and so we are not going to tell you how to heal but rather give you knowledge that you can use if it makes sense to you. We can’t make intelligent choices if we don’t have the knowledge to do so. Some of the healing aspects and modalities we will talk about include diet, nutrition, hydration, cleansing, cleanliness and hygiene, exercise and movement, sleep, structural alignment, chiropractic, acupuncture, Ayurveda, massage, reflexology, and of course Yoga in all its aspects — yoga meditation, yoga diet and lifestyle, yoga asana, yoga nidra, and yoga philosophy. Since healing involves all of these areas, we recommend that you take our other workshops (above) first before you take this one so that you have a good foundation of knowledge.
SCHEDULE: TBA
Bring: A notebook to write in if you like to take notes. Also bring a pair of thin socks (we’ll be doing a little reflexology on our feet). Handouts and refreshments will be provided.
Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing appropriate to the weather. Please refrain from wearing perfume and other fragrances.
RSVP is required and must be confirmed for all workshops at least a day ahead — by email, text, or phone. (See below for contact information.)

NOTE: We do not require masks. We believe it is important to be able to breathe freely while practicing yoga asana and meditation. If you are not comfortable with this, there are some videos we can refer to you for practice on your own.
